The Battle of Newtown
August 27 & 28, 2011

Friday, August 26
        Arrival and setup throughout the day.
          Please stop at the Park Office at the stop sign on top of the hill to register.

           8:00 PM --  Officers' Meeting at the Lodge                 

Saturday, August 27
           8:00 AM --   Wargame (optional)
           8:30 AM --   All vehicles out of camp areas
           9:00 AM --   Event and camps open to public
           9:30 AM --   Formation of troops for safety inspection, in separate camps                                
           9:45 AM --    Prepare for Woods Walk.  Troops go to assigned positions.
        10:15  AM
--  Woods Walk/Battle -- will last about 45 minutes
        11:30 AM --    Court Martial Scenario at the Lodge
         12:00 PM --   Nooning in camps
           1:00 PM --   Military Music Concert in front of the Lodge
           1:30 PM --   Formal Tea for Ladies and Gentlemen of Fashion at the lodge.  Public to observe only.
           2:30 PM --   Formation and inspection in preparation for battle.  Troops go to assigned positions.
           3:00 PM --   Main battle
           5:00 PM --   Event and camps close to public
           6:00 PM --   Gratis Dinner for all re-enactors served at the lodge
                                 Please bring your own bowl, mug, and spoon!

         8:30 PM --   18th Century Tavern Night! 
                                 Come to the lodge and join the celebration of fun, laughter, games, and music in our beautiful
                                 candlelit lodge.  Beverages and snacks will be provided.
                                 For your pleasure and enlightenment -- The 24th Regiment of Foot will present a play:
                                                     "The Honest Thieves" -- an entertaining farce by Sir Robert Howard!

                                 Please bring your lantern to help us light that big, dark lodge!


Sunday, August 28
           7:30 AM --   Gratis Breakfast served in the lodge.  This will include scones, muffins, oatmeal, juice,
                                 coffee, and tea.  Please bring your own bowl, mug, and spoon.
           8:00 AM --   Wargame (optional)
           9:00 AM --   Event and camps open to public
           9:00 AM --   Anglican Church service at the pavilion near British camp
           9:15 AM --   18th Century Divine Service at the Lodge
         10:15 AM --   Court Martial Scenario at the Lodge
         11:15 AM --   Execution by firing squad near the Lodge
         12:00 PM --   Nooning in camps
         12:30 PM --   Military Music Concert in front of the Lodge
           1:30 PM --   Formation and inspection for the battle.
           2:00 PM --   Battle at the main battlefield area
           4:00 PM --   Event and camps close to public
                                 You may begin breaking down camp at 3:30, but absolutely no cars will be allowed in until 4PM.
