Revolutionary War Weekend ~ Battle of Newtown
August 23 & 24, 2008

Available Amenities --
Water, firewood, and port-a-johns will be near the camps.
Restrooms and showers are on top of the hill near the Park office.
Ice will be available to purchase at set times.  Ice tickets will be sold at registration.

Food --
A modern food vendor, located near the Park office, will be open for lunch business
during public hours both days.
Your hosts will provide Saturday night supper and Sunday Continental breakfast.


Registration --
Will be open, beginning Friday during the day and will remain open late in the evening and again
on Saturday morning.
Please stop at the Park office, at the stop sign on top of the hill.

The Continental camp will be located across from the main battlefield.
British, Loyalists, Rangers, and Natives will be camped within and above the Indian Village.
Sutlers, Demonstrators, and Civilians will be camped on the top, near the main lodge, as usual.

Because everyone will be encamped within easy walking distance of the top of the hill and the
main lodge, there will be no buses running after public hours.

All vehicles must be removed from the camps and sutler areas as soon as unloading is complete.
Vehicles must be parked in designated re-enactor parking.

                Saturday, August 23

               7:00 AM -- Troops awaken.  Breakfast in camps.

               9:00 AM -- Formation and troop safety inspection, in separate camps.

              10:00 AM -- Event and Camps open to public.

              10:30 AM -- Prepare for Woods Walk Skirmish.  Troops go to assigned positions.

             11:00 AM -- Woods Walk Skirmish, with public participation:  a guided "journey" through
                              the woods, with an ambush and skirmish.  Will last about 1/2 hour.

             12:00 PM -- Nooning in camps.

               1:30 PM -- Formation and troop safety inspection, in separate camps.  March to battlefield.

               2:00 PM -- Battle for the public at the main battlefield.

               3:00 PM -- Relax in camps, talk to the public, shop at the sutlers.

               5:00 PM -- Camps close to the public.

               6:00 PM -- Gratis dinner for all re-enactors will be served in the main lodge.  Please be there as
                              soon after 6 PM as you can to be certain you are served.  Please bring your own bowls,
                              mugs, and eating utensils. 

               8:30 PM -- 18th Century Tavern Night!  Come and join the celebration of fun, laughter, music,
                              and games in our beautiful candlelit lodge.  Beverages and snacks will be provided by
                              the hosts.

                Sunday, August 24

                       7:00 AM -- Troops awaken.

                       7:30 AM -- Gratis Continental breakfast served in the main lodge.  This will include
                               Danish, cinnamon buns, scones with jam, juice, coffee, and tea.

              10:00 AM -- Camps and event open to the public.

              10:15 AM -- 18th Century Divine Service at main lodge.

              11:00 AM -- Fashion Show at the main lodge.  Gentlemen and Ladies needed to participate.

              12:00 PM -- Nooning in camps.

                1:30 PM -- Formation and inspection for battle.

                2:00 PM -- Battle for the public at the main battlefield.

                4:00 PM -- Event and camps close to public. 
                                      Please
do not begin breaking down camp until 4 PM!  No cars will be allowed in until
                               then.
