A CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS!
Are you tired of being a couch potato? Are you looking for something to do that will get you outdoors to enjoy nature? Do you need to bring your family closer together by means of a wholesome activity? We have the answer!
Becoming a volunteer for the Chemung Valley Living History Center and the Friends of Newtown can bring some fun and excitement into your life. You don't have to be a re-enactor or a living historian to participate. Many of us are, but some of us volunteer simply because we love the park and enjoy being "on the hill."
What can you do? There are many areas where dedicated volunteers can be utilized right now. Planning and preparation for the 2005 events is already under way, and help is needed in several areas. You can work at the events doing a variety of tasks, such as: selling tickets at the gate, directing parking, working at the membership booth, or selling T-shirts at the information table.
How much time do you need to put in? That varies and is entirely up to you. Volunteers can put in anywhere from a few hours per month to several hundred hours per year. Whatever time and skills you can offer will certainly be appreciated!
A list of specific needs and contacts are below. If you and your family would like more information on how to become part of the Volunteer Staff of the Chemung Valley Living History Center, contact our volunteer coordinator today!
