Nama Dhofar Services, a key provider of electricity, water, and wastewater services in Oman, has announced an invitation for bids from project developers and utility companies for the construction of the Al Houtah Desalination Plant, according to Zawya. The project will be located in the Rakhyut province of Dhofar Governorate.
In addition to the desalination plant, the project involves the construction of a transmission pipeline, booster stations, tanks, and the establishment of a distribution network.
The successful bidder will be responsible for the execution, financing, and provision of operation and maintenance services for the project.
The Al Houtah Desalination Plant is a major regional initiative and will be developed under the Build-Own-Transfer (BOT) model.
Bids must be submitted by May 18.
